One of the best galleries in Brunswick is Counihan Gallery but you would never know if you looked it up online.  Tied to the Moreland council website, Counihan’s online presence is anything but spectacular. The Gallery, on the other hand is a beautiful large and warm space, credibility and class seeping from the high ceilings and long white walls.

Play Money, curated by Jane O’Neil “examines the anxiety surrounding the acquisition of real estate in Australia. The exhibition playfully combines a range of installation, works on paper and sculpture by six established artists who share an interest in Pop Art. Using toys, games, currency and building materials, Play Money raises questions about urbanism, growth and home ownership”.

Now, the reason I haven’t tried to put that in my own words is because I couldn’t say  it any better.  Play Money runs for a little while longer, so I suggest you pop in and absorb the high standard this exhibition is setting.
